This is an unusual opportunity to establish a career as an architectural design leader of significance, while obtaining valuable experience outside the U.S. Our client, one of the largest U.S.-based firms operating globally today, is seeking a Design leader for its thriving Mexico City office of over 70 people. A substantial part of the practice is large, program-driven projects like corporate headquarters or sports facilities. But the office also has a large portfolio of work for developers of high density, highrise and resort properties. The Executive Committee of this firm is committed to the growth of the Mexico City office, acknowledging its already-dominant position, and certain of its ability to play a vibrant role in the burgeoning development of Central and South America. To become a truly vital player among the major architectural clients in Mexico, a design-focused practice is important. Accordingly, the management of the Mexico City office is enthusiastically seeking to add an accomplished designer to its leadership team who can, with the able assistance of the Managing and Marketing Directors, lead the office in an expansion of its practice. The office has a strong portfolio, ranging from the 190,000 sq. ft. Mexican headquarters for a U.S.-based financial services company, to a 400,000 sq. ft. interior design of Latin America’s first LEED-Certified office building, to a three-tower luxury residential project of over 1 million sq. ft. To continue this trajectory, the firm seeks a lead designer who can consolidate the existing design expertise of the office and help the office sustain its reputation as one of the highest quality firms in Mexico … measured by many different criteria. The successful candidate will probably have been trained in North America and working in the U.S. or Canada today. He/she will have had experience with larger scale, primarily program-driven projects for corporate, higher education, aviation, civic and other institutional clients. If you are an architect who sees the importance of international experience who has worked on larger projects, this might be an opportunity to expand your career significantly. You could make a tremendous contribution to this firm through design leadership, but as one of the world’s leading design firms, our client will be extremely selective. They seek an outstanding educational pedigree and work history that reflects experience with design firms they admire. Resort experience will be a major plus. Because many of the clients of the office value American architectural training and culture, they are comfortable conducting business in English. Fluency in … or even some level of comfort with Spanish would be a real advantage. If this sounds intriguing, please send your resume in complete confidence to mary@breuerconsulting.com to initiate a discussion. |
