How does design affect your dining experience? Designed with Taste, an event series from Architecture Center Houston explores Houston’s newest restaurants to examine this question.
Hear about the design inspiration for the spaces, and how it interacts with the culinary offerings. Is the food influenced by the design, or is it the other way around? Enjoy lite bites and a cocktail and decide for yourself.

Join us for a tour of  The Lymbar, and a sampling of its fare. Hear from owner David Cordua, designer Gin Braverman, and artist Vernon Caldera about the influences behind this new concept from longtime Houston restauranteurs, the Cordua family.

Designed by Gin Braverman of Houston's Gin Design Group, the Lymbar is located in The Ion, Rice University's innovation-focused mixed-use development in Midtown. Chef and restauranteur David Cordúa’s gastronomical vision revolves around a bar forward, small plates concept which serves both Latin and Mediterranean flavors. The 120-seat restaurant features meats prepared on a vertical roaster and craft cocktails built around barrel-aged spirits.

The restaurant's name is taken from Lymbar Drive, the street in Southwest Houston where the family once lived; the area's diverse community and the French training Cordúa received at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris will guide the menu.
