Amplifying Voices: Creating Change through Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Tuesday, July 21, 6:00pm, Direct Zoom Link

Through a series of roundtable discussions, Latinos in Architecture (LiA) Houston celebrates its first anniversary, and elevates the diverse communities and organizations that are creating change within the architecture and design communities. For the first session, founders of LiA Houston will discuss issues of representation around culture, race, language, gender and social standing, and the vitality and contributions of committees that form in response to that lack of representation. Creating space and providing a platform for marginalized people allows for differences to be discussed and stereotypes addressed. LiA Houston strives to change the narrative for future generations through mentorship and community volunteerism. The panel, with R. Linda Camacho, Intl. Assoc. AIA; Cesar Dominguez, AIA; Ricardo Martinez, AIA; Bayardo Selva, AIA and moderated by Yvette Herrera Duran, will share their personal experiences and discuss how LiA addresses these issues.

After registering for the event, a Zoom link and calendar invite will be emailed. Online registration will close July 20.

The series will continue, with discussions taking place in August and September. Join the LiA mailing list to receive notifications on upcoming events.
