Presentation information:
The presenter will review several new exterior enclosure products, including some that are newly available on the market and others that are still under development. The presentation will cover window systems, glazing, phase change materials, aerogels, active or integrated facades, and building-integrated photovoltaics. The presenter will explain the history of some of these materials, suggest reasons for renewed interest in them, and assess whether some of these materials have any useful future by examining the science behind their claims to reduce energy consumption.

Learning Objectives
• Describe new products that are arriving in the market including window systems, glazing, phase change materials, aerogels, and building integrated photovoltaics.
• Understand how phase change materials store and release energy.
• Recognize the types of chromatic glass and understand their benefits and drawbacks.
• Describe the properties of aerogels.
