Presentation information:

Through analysis of three case studies designed by Kirksey, the speakers will explore the lifecycle costs and energy performance implications of various envelope-related energy efficiency strategies.  The analysis will focus on the results of an iterative energy modeling process, and it will identify useful metrics that are not typically a part of building and facade design.

Learning Objectives
•This course will help architecture & construction professionals understand the process and outputs of energy modeling during the early design stage.
•This course will also familiarize architecture & construction professionals with the ASHRAE 90.1 standard and its methodology and possible applications.
•This course will demonstrate the significance of creating appropriate metrics to analyze building design and future use.
•This course will teach the audience about how certain envelope factors supersede others in building performance optimization of an envelope-load dominated building.
