Evolution of Roofing - Keeping Up with Changes

Roof system technology has changed drastically over the years with the development of new installation techniques and the push for new sustainable roofing materials.  For building owners and design professionals, keeping up with the changes can be overwhelming; however, making the right decisions can also save time and money.  This presentation provides important insights to those changes, specifically those driven by insurance companies and catastrophic events.  We will compare recent changes to the International Building Code and Factory Mutual Standards in addition to discussing new technologies.  Testing procedures for evaluating new and existing roof performance will also be discussed.
