Purpose
The purpose of this workshop is to educate participants on how to ask for wood and understand when and where wood is the most viable and sustainable choice for construction.
The group will also emphasize the use of the latest wood product technologies, such as Cross Laminated Timber, and also sponsor discussions about the economic benefits of using wood products grown and manufactured in the South.
The workshop will begin around 12:45PM and last through 5:45PM with lunch provided.
3.5 AIA credit hours will be available.
Who should attend?
Public Building Owners (Government agency employees), the State Engineers Offices, state and county building code officials, state Associations of School Administrators, state School Boards Associations, state Associations of City and County Managers, state Municipal Associations, State School Facilities, and State Associations of Fire Chiefs. Other interested stakeholders include regional and local economic development officials and university planners and capital projects staff, and other interested state and local agencies charged with the design and construction of public buildings. This may include architects and construction firms that design and construct public buildings.
