John Chase became the first licensed African American architect in Texas and is considered one of the most important African American architects of the 20th century. Chasing Perfection features architectural drawings, photographs, scrapbooks, and objects from John S. Chase's personal collection, as well as offers insight into the man who built an unparalleled legacy. 

This exhibit is a program of the Houston Public Library. All HPL programs are free of charge and open to the public.
