Topic: How Has the Pandemic (COVID 19) Affected Spatial Requirements of Interior Design and the Practice Architecture for the Future?

Attendees will discuss the benefits of program practices, engage in solution discussions and identify how to create pathways forward for future programming.   Architects and interior designers are now, more than ever empowered to design a world that allows people, communities, and environments to thrive in coexistence harmony ––and those conversations of sustainability will continue to move forward post-COVID-19. The future solutions of tomorrow will be discussed about and around COVID 19 – but also in forward thinking of what could be the next pandemic forced upon our built environment communities.

Information about materials and their uses will be discussed at length.
Discussions about the creation of practical design and delivery solutions to these new challenges. Goals are to keep healthcare waiting rooms, patient room, exam rooms and staff workplaces and social environments safe and functional. Discussions will also take into account some external area implications involved with pathways, wayfinding models and potentially having external testing areas.

This will only become more demanding––especially as people become more informed of the health benefits of increased access to fresh air, healthy building materials, and as the public becomes more inundated with the media and governmental standards (CDC / local health department guidelines, etc).

The goal for all is to be connected in healthier buildings and communities.
