PVC 101: The Benefits and Uses of Cellular PVC Trim by Versatex Building Products, LLC.

This course will provide the different types and properities of cellular PVC in the building/construction industry.  You will discuss best design practices (Beaded Ceiling, pre-fabricated corners, fabricated column wraps, window surrounds, skirting for homes, pergolas, soffit system, railing applications, fastening methods, painting PVC trim products, thermal expansion joint design).

Louver Innovation: Advancements in Rain Defense by Griesenbeck

This course will provide an understanding of how to determine criteria used to determine louver selection. It provides an overview of louvers for all types of weather elements.  It will discuss the importance of louver testing and certification (AMCA Standard 500-L wind driven rain testing; Miami-Dade County hurricane testing protocol) and  where it can be used - residential, commercial, multi-family and historic preservations.

The Human Color Experience & Color Trends 2021 by Benjamin Moore & Co.

Participants will learn ways in which humans are affected by color both physically and emotionally, thus using this knowledge to make impactful and effective color selections. Understand how the eye and brain work together to process color, in addition to ways in which the brain shapes our visual perception of color. Differentiate between various elements that contribute to emotional reactions to color including inherent color responses, learned and past experiences, cultural associations, use of language to describe color. And consider how color is a tool for communicating messages, directions, and serves as a vehicle for self-expression, particularly in contactless environments.

This course will provide an understanding of innovative design trends including current market drivers, comparing high performance buildings and how to increase visual and thermal comfort by automating the balance of natural and artificial light. This course will build the connection between the influence of current design trends and advances in technology, on building performance using automated facades. We will discuss design strategies using power and data distribution to create higher performing buildings with increased functionality at a lower cost.
