Students, join the conversation!  

 

The Health SES Student Round Table will give students the opportunity to have an exclusive, casual conversation with local architecture representatives on topics related to healthcare architecture.  Our panelist is comprised of a diverse background with different perspectives on the industry. 

What are tomorrow’s leaders in architecture thinking about?  What do they see as important?  What are their fears and obstacles they feel they need to overcome?  Student are encouraged to submit their questions in advance of the event.  Register today!  

Students will participate in an overall panel discussion and we break out into seperate rooms with each panelists.  

 

Round Table Panelists:

  • Jill Pearsall, VP, Facilities Planning and Real Estate Services, Texas Children’s

Jill Pearsall is the Senior Vice President of Facilities Planning & Development and Real Estate Services at Texas Children’s Hospital.  She has leadership responsibility for real estate strategy, transaction and acquisition, facilities planning, project management and on-going support programs of artwork/signage, interiors/logistics, space management, and facilities information.  Jill is a licensed architect in Texas and California and holds a certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

 

  • Scott Evans AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD + C, Director of Business Development at Hoar Construction

Scott Evans joined Hoar Construction in 2008 where he quickly gravitated to Senior Program Manager within the Program Management Division. He then moved to Houston in 2012 as the Director of Business Development to build client relationships while promoting the Hoar Construction brand and continues to enhance our client base throughout Houston, Texas and the region. He has over 29 years of architectural and construction experience. Scott started his career in Houston, Texas working for Morris Architects before joining Kirksey Architects where he served as Vice President for their hospitality, mixed-use and high-rise residential projects. Scott’s background provided for an opportunity to join a development company where prior to joining Hoar, Scott served as the Executive Vice President for Design and Consulting Services for Southern Land Company in Nashville, Tennessee. Scott is unique in that he has practiced traditional architecture as well as participated on the owner, contractor and program management side of the table and brings a comprehensive perspective for delivering design and construction projects.

Scott grew up in Houston and graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School. He then attended and graduated from Iowa State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.  He is currently a member of AIA, NCARB, Texas Society of Architects, ULI, NAIOP, USGBC and is LEED AP BD+C accredited. 

 

  • Amber Livingston, Interior Designer, Facilities Planning & Development, Texas Children's Hospital

Amber earned her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Sam Houston State University and always new she wanted to pursue commercial design, after learning about Facilitates Planning & Development for Texas Children’s Hospital, Amber was quickly intrigued by the thought of designing for a great cause.  In her spare time, Amber enjoys exploring the city’s cultural, and food scene, as well as traveling worldwide for experience’s and inspiration.

 

  • Rene Vital, AIA, LEED AP, Project Manager at Huitt-Zollars, Inc.

Rene earned his Masters of Architecture from Texas Tech University with a focus on healthcare design. Rene grew up in a small town in the Texas panhandle and always wanted to be involved in architecture throughout grade school. It wasn’t until his third year in undergrad architecture school that he was introduced to healthcare design and has never looked back! Rene had the opportunity to move to Houston in 2007 and start his healthcare architectural career during a time that healthcare design was booming. Rene has worked with world class healthcare firms – FKP, WHR, EYP and now Huitt-Zollars. Rene enjoys the complexity and collaboration that healthcare architecture brings and is exited to not only continue learning from his peers but also mentoring the next generations of healthcare architects. Outside of architecture Rene enjoys spending his time with family and friends and keeping up with his daughters sporting events.

 

  • Pier Vettorazzi,  AIA, IIDA, LEED AP, Senior Project Manager at Ross & Barruzzini | Mitchell Planning 

With a background in Construction,  Architecture and  Interior Design, Pier brings over 20 years of Healthcare and Project Management experience to the Mitchell Team.  As results-oriented project/construction manager, Pier is recognized for his extensive planning and constructing expertise. He is successfully leads owners’ teams and interfaces with all internal/external consultants and user groups and effectively partners and manages contracts with design, engineering firms, specialty consultants, contractors, and vendors. Pier’s responsibilities include schedule coordination, delegation of Mitchell resources, vendor communications and facility owner report outs and assuring that all deliverable dates are met. Pier’s prior experiences include working with a large architectural firm where he led multiple projects including imaging and surgical suite renovations and coordinating the infrastructure requirements with engineers.
