Brought to you by the Committee on Architecture for Health

healthcare

On February 28th, 2013 the AIA Committee on Architecture for Healthcare (CAH) will host the annual Seminar Education and Social (SES).  As an expansion to that event the committee has begun planning a 24 hour student competition and charrete that will be run the preceding day culminating with a jury / review just before the start of the SES event.  The student’s work will be displayed at the SES thereby extending the event into a multi-day dialog about the role of healthcare and the built environment.

The committee is reaching out to member-firms who actively participate in this market segment to take a participatory role in this competition.  We will be having our next CAH meeting on the 14th of November at the AIA Houston Headquarters at 12:00p where we will have a formal presentation about this competition.  At this presentation, we will outline the opportunities for involvement in not only the SES but also the SES competition  We hope you all can make it to hear about the planning for the SES in general but also the SES competition in particular.

Here is why you should participate in the upcoming design charrete:

• Exhibit your firms capacity to engage at the conceptual / speculative level
• Engage with the next generation of architects & designers.
• Host conversations about the role of the built environment in public well being
• Foster dialog about healthcare and healthcare delivery.
• Support an event to exhibit new thoughts about healthcare architecture.
• Have some fun
