Join the AIA  Houston Kids & Architecture Committee for a sketching class in Hermann Park. The class will meet in front of the McGovern Centennial Gardens entrance at the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion.  After  checking in, students and architects will spread out through the park to sketch. Potential sites include the McGovern Gardens, Miller Outdoor Theater, the Butterfly Pavilion at Houston Museum of Natural Sciences and Lake Plaza.

This is an outdoor class. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Students will work one on one or in small groups with architects to learn and develop hand sketching skills. Registration includes a sketch book, pencils, bottle of water and a snack. The class is open to students age 12 and up. Adults are welcome to participate and parents are encouraged to stay for the class.

There is a public parking lot outside the McGovern Gardens as well as metered street parking in the adjacent neighborhood. Parkiing in the area fills up fast on weekends. Please plan to arrive early to allow time to park and check-in.

Class will conclude at Noon. Students will be ready for pick-up or departure between 12:00 & 12:15 outside the Cherie Flores Pavilion.
