2024 Navigating the Ropes: Doer to Decision Maker

As we all move through our careers, most of us end up in some role being a decision maker. Whether that’s day-to-day decisions or deciding how to run a firm, we all have a responsibility to execute judgment and are held accountable to those decisions. Often in those roles, we are asked to lead tasks, groups, meetings, projects; and that's not a skill that comes naturally to all. It must be cultivated and developed through trial and error to encourage growth.

How do you identify opportunities in daily practice where you can strengthen your leadership skills? What kind of conversations do you need to have with your senior leadership to identify opportunities for growth? How do you position yourself within your firm to set yourself up for managerial positions in the future? What does leadership look like for you?
