Soar to High Heights: Texas Tower
Wednesday, November 1, 5pm
Space is limited.

A city’s towers can define its place in the world, producing a skyline that reveals a city’s identity almost instantly. But today the community rarely has to access those towers and the bird’s eye views they provide. Observation decks have closed or limited access to tenants only due to increasing security concerns.

ArCH’s Soar to High Heights tour series invites the community to explore the history of our local skyscrapers, their architecture and of course access to the top. We will explore iconic and recently completed skyscrapers in Houston’s skyline.

Featured Location
Texas Tower
2021. Pelli Clarke & Partners

Constructed by Hines and designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners, Texas Tower is the newest addition to Houston’s skyline. Stretching 47 stories high, the opening of Texas Tower came 50 years after Hines debuted its first downtown skyscraper – One Shell Plaza. Opening late 2021, the building was designed to lure office workers back to downtown following the pandemic. The towers feature three urban gardens, two 13,000 square-foot outdoor sky lobbies with sweeping views of downtown. Texas Tower is designed with the highest rating for energy and environmental design as well as sustainability, technology and wellness standards. The building also serves as Hines world headquarters and home of its Southwest regional office.

Graham Banks, AIA, Chris Koon and Maximillian Waldman with Pelli Clarke & Partners and repersentives from Hines will lead the tour.
