Texas Accessibility Seminar presented by Jeromy Murphy
- Designing for Disasters and Disabilities
Description:
- The ADA Standards and International Building Code includes requirements for Accessible Means of Egress to address the needs of people with disabilities in a fire emergency. However, the codes do not address their needs during natural disasters or other emergency situations. This program will review existing requirements for accessible means of egress and will explore how buildings can be made safer for people with disabilities in the even of a disaster or act of violence.
