Towers, Twinkle and Twilight

Towers and Trees at Twilight explores a magical time in downtown Houston when the setting sun is casting orange and pink hues on towering skyscrapers and the office lights slowly appear. The tour will cover the magnificent architecture between Hermann Square and Discovery Green as well as the changing dynamics of downtown Houston. We'll look at the partially realized civic center plan surrounding Hermann Square, Houston’s historic backbone - Main Street, the ambitious 1970 proposal that became Houston Center, the internationally recognized icons from the skyscraper boom of the 70's and 80's, some of Houston’s newest towers and end at Discovery Green. We will take a step inside City Hall, Pennzoil Place, One Shell Plaza, Bank of America, Niels Esperson Building and along the way we will see the city decked out in holiday lights.  The tour will end at Phoenicia with a cup of hot chocolate and treats.
