Brought to you by the ArCH Exhibitions and Programs
Architecture Center Houston needs volunteers to assist in research and production of Houston: Uncommon Modern, an exhibition and catalogue with accompanying public programs about uncommon midcentury architecture in the greater Houston area. The exhibit and programs will take place November 2015 - February 2016. The project will include original research, field work and photography of local buildings and infrastructure constructed between 1945-1979 in order to document, analyze and celebrate the design of secondary, tertiary and quaternary midcentury designs that are hidden in full sight. Research is beginning in March 2015
Volunteers interested in helping canvas Houston to locate buildings for the exhibit are invited to join us for an orientation on March 17th. We will describe the architecture sought and give examples. Volunteers will form teams and take on assignments of Houston area neighborhoods. We are asking that volunteers complete their surveys by March 31.
Additional opportunities to volunteer with the exhibit team will follow. All volunteer hours are eligible for IDP credit. Please contact Mat Wolff (713-520-0155 or mat@aiahouston.org) with any questions or RSVP for the team and meeting by following the link to the left.
