WiA & NAWIC Joint Happy Hour & Dress for Success Clothing Drive

Our April Happy Hour will be co-hosted by WiA (Women in Architecture) Houston and NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Houston at Wooster's Garden.

This Happy Hour will also serve as a clothing drive for Dress for Success, a charity organization that helps to "provide business attire, a much-needed boost of confidence and job retention and career advancement services to more than 35,545+ women in the Houston community" since 1998.

Please bring your gently used, in season, interview appropriate clothing that is in style and ready to wear to an interview. Please have all donated items clean, pressed, and on hangers. No out-of-date or tattered clothing. See below for a list of acceptable donations:

The following are acceptable donations:
Suits: skirt or pant (conservative and updated)
Blouses: business appropriate
Shells
Shoes: dress, dark colors (black, brown, navy, taupe)
Handbags: conservative colors
Skirts and Pants: solid, dark colors
Jackets: professional
Scarves
Pantyhose: new and unopened (only in black, coffee, nude; no
white or bold colors)
Dresses: work-appropriate (no formal or evening wear)
Dressy-casual outfits (conservative two-piece set)
Professional Portfolios (logos accepted)

The following will not be accepted:
White suits
French-cuff blouses
White shoes, tennis shoes, sandals or casual shoes
Open-toed or open-heeled shoes
Shorts, sweaters or vests
Sweat suits, coats, jeans, t-shirts
Heavy winter clothing of any kind
Undergarments, pajamas, robes, lingerie or slippers
Cosmetics or jewelry
Belts
Accessories such as hats or gloves
Umbrellas or wallets
Men’s clothing
Clothing with stains or moth holes
