J. KEVIN STORY, AIA, Story Architects, Inc.
J. Kevin Story is a native Houstonian and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Architecture Professional Degree and holds a Master of Science in Architecture with a concentration in History, Theory and Criticism from the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design. Kevin is a licensed Architect in the State of Texas and has over 35 years of professional experience in the design, production and management of commercial office buildings, industrial warehouse projects, industrial research and development laboratories, religious and non-profit facilities, educational facilities, health care renovation projects and medical office buildings. Kevin's professional background is diverse with an emphasis in planning, conceptual development and design.
Story Architects Inc. grew out of a firm started in 1992 with Kevin as Partner and Story Architects was established as a Corporation in the State of Texas in 2003. Story Architects has designed numerous successful projects in the greater Houston area over the last 28 years.
Kevin is president of Story Architects, Inc.
Kevin has over 22 years of continuous service teaching at the University of Houston, Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design. As Adjunct Assistant Professor, Kevin teaches Intermediate Design Studio, Advanced Architectural Design Studio and a technical course in Architectural Construction Detailing. Kevin was proud and humbled to be the recipient of the “2017 Teacher of the Year” award from the U of H College of Architecture and Design. Kevin's article, "The Pedagogy of the Cigar Box" was published in the 2017Jan/Feb issue of TxA and he is currently looking forward to the upcoming publication of his book on the work of architect and educator John Hejduk.
