This position will be based out of our Houston, Texas Corporate Headquarters. We are seeking a Corporate Architect to perform all phases of architectural work including planning, designing and overseeing construction. You will be involved in new building designs, extensions, alterations, restorations and conservations from the earliest stages through to completion. The goal is to produce sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing designs.

Essential Functions:
Site Selection: Support the site selection and feasibility process with site planning and building concept for the development of the site under consideration. Incorporate appropriate building codes, zoning requirements and regulatory standards. Develop a concept that meets the unit mix requirements and incorporated the Belmont Standard program requirements.
Architectural Design: Develop and maintain a list of architects and engineers that Belmont considers qualified for its projects. Obtain proposals, participate in selection and negotiate agreements for architectural, engineering and consultant services. Compile and update Belmont standards including program and specifications. Participate in design and project meetings during the design phase. Provide input for conformance with Belmont Operations and review designs with Operations and Marketing at each phase. Monitor design schedule and construction budget. Coordinate architecture with interior design and FF&E. Review consultant drawings at each phase for conformance with Belmont Standards and constructability.
Construction: Assist project manager during construction. Review substitutions and selected submittals for design intent and conformance to Standards. Provide regular construction review and participate in solving design issues. Review “as built” and construction closeout submittals for accuracy.
Operations: Attend and participate in ongoing Asset Management meetings and provide options to solve issues that come up with existing Communities. Assist Operations with design and Standards input. Maintain drawing files for existing facilities. Coordinate architectural design for community renovation and additions.

Travel Expectations:
Travel requirements vary, 20-25% is typical.
Visit sites with Communities under construction nationwide.

Professional degree in architecture.
Appropriate Architectural licensing.
7 years of experience in architecture and/or project management.
Supervisory and leadership experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or similar.
Experience and/or interest in senior living.
