Designer

Designer wanted to join small, fast-paced design office specializing in residential projects. The position will involve heavy use of AutoCAD for production of schematic and construction drawings. The successful candidate will have the ability, desire and organizational skills to be able to grow into a senior design and project-oversight role over time. This position is intended as a full-time, in-person role, but a flexible schedule could be considered for the right candidate.
Four Square is a small but well-established firm located in central Houston. Because of our small size, you will get exposure to all aspects of projects; you’ll have the opportunity not only to work on drawings, but to exercise and improve your design skills and interact with clients. Responsibilities

Sample responsibilities include:
● Completing construction documents
● Field measuring and photographing
● Shopping for architectural materials, furniture and fabrics
● Interacting with clients, contractors, vendors and consultants
● Other tasks as needed

Qualifications

Applicant should have:
● Bachelor’s degree from a rigorous architectural or interior design program
● 2-5 years’ work experience at architectural or design firms
● Attentiveness to detail
● Interest in residential design and detailing of interiors
● Interest in modern design and adaptive reuse of historic structures
● Excellent AutoCAD skills for production of construction documents
● A solid foundation in architectural history
● Knowledge of interior materials
● Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel); 3-D modeling software skills are a plus
