Interior Designer

The Clerkley Watkins Group is a seasoned Architecture and Interior Design Firm that was established over 30 years ago specializing in Multi-Family and Hospitality related projects. We are in search of creative, self-starting and responsible Interior Design talent to join our team. The Interior Design Position plays a major role in the success of our projects throughout the country. Applicants should have an interest in every aspect of the design process and should be enthusiastic about contributing to our team concept approach. You will be a part of a team which includes our design and production group as well as working with our engineering consultants. You will need to provide leadership in all project phases from initial development to completion of the design and documentation of the interiors of spaces.


Team Leader of interior design projects that include programming client’s needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documents
Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, fabrics, equipment, color palettes, lighting and hardware
Participate in the selection, and procurement of FF&E
Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
Work directly with consultants, vendors and suppliers
Maintaining the growth and research of the office resource library
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently at various phases
Engage in marketing and business development


Must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture (must be CIDA accredited)
NCIDQ Interior Designer, registered in the State of Texas (TBAE) is a plus
Multi-family and Hospitality experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication and written skills; must be able to present design concepts to design team and clients
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, understand building codes, ADA and Fair Housing requirements
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite
Interior finish materials selections, specifications, production of finish material boards, space planning
Construction documentation production, construction phase responsibilities, review of submittals
Ability to work well under pressure and work on multiple projects and prioritize accordingly in a fast pace environment
