Project Manager

Responsibilities

Design
• Creates designs in CAD from hand or computer generated schematic design information provided by Founder, Principal or client
• Prepares cartoon sets for all phases of the projects from Schematic Design through Construction Documents
• Uses office design standards to create plans, elevations, details, electrical, etc. with Principal oversight
• Accurately reviews & redlines design work of others
• Observes work onsite during Construction Administration, identifies discrepancies and successfully communicates to the client and contractor
• Reviews and approves structural, civil, shop drawings
• Manages a team to produce excellent full-service and limited scope sets of construction documents within budget
• Provides consistency in design on a project with the determined look and feel established by Principal or Senior Project Manager
Scheduling
• Creates & distributes project schedules
• Manages a team to adhere to project schedules
• Communicates project schedules to the office scheduling team
Budgeting
• Reviews project time budgets and manages a team to stay on track
• Adheres to project scope
• Completes a majority of projects within or below budget
Communication
• Communicates in a professional manner and in accordance with firm standards
• Prepares RFP’s
• Responds to RFP’s
• Experience in solely communicating with Contractors
• Experience in meeting and communicating with clients
• Communicates with consultants (interior designer, engineers, municipalities)
• Communicates assignments to Design Associates

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture Degree or Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Structural Analysis and five years of full time professional experience in architecture. Or Bachelor of Interior Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design or other firm approved degree, approved to take the Architectural Registration Examinations (ARE) and five years of full time professional experience in architecture
• One year working full time successfully as a Senior Design Associate in the firm in a training role to become a Project Manager
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce drawings based on office standards
• Experience working on a variety styles
• Experience working on a variety of sizes of projects
• Successfully manages, directs and motivates a minimum team of four staff members
