Kathy Collins AIA, LEED AP has joined Sebesta, a sustainable engineering firm, providing ME design, commissioning and sustainability consulting services. Kathy is an architect managing projects specializing in ecologically sound development and renovation, emphasizing energy and water efficient strategies with a holistic approach to sustainable building solutions. LEED Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance (EBOM) and LEED New Construction (NC/BD+C/CI)/Core & Shell (CS), with "Gold LEED Certification" and "Gold/Platinum LEED Recertification" a specialty. Green Building Initiative-Green Globes and Green Rater services also provided. Kathy has worked closely with Hines, Brookfield, Moody Rambin, Transwestern and Jones Lang LaSalle on sustainable projects for both new construction and retrofitting of existing buildings. She has been responsible for more than 40 million square feet of office space for LEED certification, and is a licensed architect in both Texas and Illinois. As part of her green building commitment, she has educated thousands of building design and construction industry professionals in preparation for becoming LEED accredited. Kathy was the 2011 chair for the southeast regional Gulf Coast Green Conference on green building www.gulfcoastgreen.org. She also serves as advisor to the Regionalization Committee of the U.S. Green Building Council, and currently serves on the AIA Board of Directors in Houston.
