Virginia W. Kelsey

Virginia W. Kelsey, AIA graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1983. As a part of her training, she participated in study abroad programs in Versailles and Oxford. During her college years, she worked on Historic Restoration projects for Crain/Anderson, Inc. After graduation, she moved to New York City to work for I.M. Pei and Partners where she worked closely with James Freed. She later returned to her hometown of Houston working for 3D/International.
In 1988, Virginia began her own practice specializing in residential architecture, both new construction and remodelings. Virginia spends a great deal of her time out in the field on job sites working with the craftsman developing and refining details.
In addition to her practice, she served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Houston. She has lectured at The Women's Institute as well as numerous other organizations. She has traveled extensively with the Institute of Classical Architecture visiting finely crafted homes around the world.
