AMB Architects Expands Leadership Team | Roy Locke Promoted to Managing Principal

03/19/2024

AMB Architects recently promoted Roy Locke, AIA, RAS, NCARB to Managing Principal. Roy’s well-deserved elevation to the AMB leadership team stems from his demonstrated value to clients and leadership in firm operations. He joins firm founder Alyse Makarewicz and Managing Principal Breann Nash at the helm of firm management. Roy will lead technology adoption and integration, and he’ll have oversight of AMB’s project process.

Within AMB’s collaborative team, Roy is responsible for developing design concepts and strategies that align with clients’ goals and budgets. He brings ideas to life through the integration of architectural elements, finishes, and furnishings. His creative energies and background in architecture and urban design provide a platform for exploring the intersection of these practices with interior design and landscape architecture.

Roy leads AMB clients through the design process and walks alongside them during construction. He is a Registered Interior Designer and Registered Accessibility Specialist, meaning he knows how to create functional and beautiful interior environments that will accommodate people of all abilities.

“Whether it’s a client or a co-worker, people want to feel seen and heard. With Roy, you get 100% attention. He’s going to do whatever it takes to understand your needs and meet your goals.” says AMB founder Alyse Makarewicz.

You can see Roy’s work in AMB projects like the Lyric Food Hall, The HUB at The Galleria, and the Spencer Fane Houston office renovation.

AMB Architects remains a woman-owned business. We will continue to sustain our long-term commitment to being an inclusive and equitable workplace. We look forward to shared success with our clients and collaborators, the communities where we work, and the entire AMB team.
