BRAVE / ARCHITECTURE has promoted Alp Bozkurt and Peter Ho to Associates of the firm. Both, Alp and Peter are key members of B/A’s Design team.

A native of Turkey, Alp Bozkurt holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Houston. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, he worked as an architectural intern and a freelance designer in the United States and Europe where he completed a variety of projects ranging in types and sizes. He has worked with Habitat for Humanity developing new housing prototypes and has participated in the first digital fabrication course at the University of Houston which won several grants and established funding for future programs. He was awarded an AIAS Merit Award for his design and fabrication of Maca, a chair using recycled materials, and P&H chaise was selected for an exhibition curated by Design Within Reach Austin showcasing young Texas designers in 2007. He was a key member of the Brave design team that was awarded a 2009 TSA Studio Award for the Sorensen Bridge. Alp continues to pursue furniture, graphic and architectural design challenges outside the office environment.

Peter Ho joined the firm in 2007, after graduating Cum Laude from the University of Houston, focusing on educational, community, municipal and recreational projects. In 2006 Peter participated in the Rice Design Alliance Initiative Grant, “Accommodation in Houston: Beers, Burgers and Barbacoa,” exploring the city’s public accommodation through non-traditional ritual sites including ice houses, burger joints, and taco stands. He also participated in the construction of the Ball-Nogues installation of “Rip Curl Canyon” at the Rice Gallery in the Fall of 2006. He has also been involved with numerous winning AIA and RDA competitions such as Sandcastle, Bowl-A-Tac, and Gingerbread Build-off, and he regularly raises money for various local charities through charity rides, as Peter is an avid cyclist.
