FKP Houston Expands Science + Education Studio

FKP Houston is pleased to announce the addition of Alvaro Arteaga AIA, NCARB, LEED AP as Architect. He will be responsible for day-to-day management, design and production of projects. Alvaro brings 10 years of design experience to the team as well as a proficiency in sustainable design and construction documentation using BIM. His project expertise is science and laboratory environments. His previous clients include: Texas Tech University, ABC Safety Council, DOW Chemical Company, Memorial Hermann Hospital System, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Alvaro will be working on Texas Children’s Hospital Pediatric Tower E and he will be part of FKP’s growing Science + Education studio.

“Alvaro brings great design experience with local projects as well as his expertise in BIM and sustainable design,” said Paul Saphos, Principal and Senior Architect at FKP. “With the recent changes in LEED credits and the advancements in BIM, he will be a great resource for the whole office to help our clients trying to obtain certification, and those that want to maximize sustainability within their projects.”

Alvaro also serves as an ACE mentor, helping and inspiring high school students to pursue careers in design and construction. The ACE program is the construction industry's fastest-growing high school mentoring program, reaching over 8,000 students annually.
