HOK Senior Medical Planner Fernando Rodrigues Earns ACHA Board Certificate and AIA Advisory Board No

The American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) has announced that HOK Senior Medical Planner Fernando Rodrigues, AIA, LEED AP, has earned his board certificate in healthcare architecture. Rodrigues recently passed an accredited examination that assesses the knowledge of architects specializing in healthcare. With this certification, Rodrigues joins the ranks of more than 400 board-certified healthcare architects in the United States and Canada.

In addition to this certification, the American Institute of Architects has nominated Rodrigues to the Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) advisory board. As the organization’s new communications advisor, Rodrigues will work with the AAH to improve both the quality of healthcare design and the design of healthy communities through knowledge-sharing and advocacy.

With more than 18 years of healthcare design experience, Rodrigues is a licensed architect in Texas and Venezuela and a certified evidence-based design professional. His design expertise includes healthcare design and medical planning for hospitals, specialty clinics, ambulatory care and diagnostic centers. As a medical planner, Rodrigues has been recognized in the design industry for developing processes that use sophisticated building information modeling and simulation tools to transform complex operational models into flexible, efficient healthcare delivery solutions.
