Ian Sinnett Joins HOK to Lead Healthcare Practice in Gulf Coast Region

Ian C. Sinnett, AIA, LEED AP, is HOK’s new vice president and leader of healthcare in the Gulf Coast region. He comes to HOK after 14 years with Perkins+Will, where he most recently served as associate principal managing the firm’s healthcare planning and strategies group in Dallas.
Recent projects have included an expansion at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, multiple Texas locations for Baylor Scott & White Health, University Health System’s capital improvement project in San Antonio, renovations and expansions at Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, and Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)’s OU Medical Center and Cancer Hospital expansion in Oklahoma City.

In his new position, Sinnett is the primary representative for HOK’s healthcare practice for the Gulf Coast region. He is responsible for business development and for ensuring that the firm’s project teams understand healthcare client challenges and address them with innovative, affordable and sustainable design solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and patient outcomes.

“Ian brings great energy and a client-centric focus to our healthcare practice,” said Jay Tatum, AIA, LEED AP, management principal of HOK’s Gulf Coast region. “He knows the market and has significant healthcare planning and lean healthcare design and implementation experience. We are pleased to have him on our leadership team."

Sinnett is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University and has completed additional training in lean healthcare for operational improvement. Building Design+Construction recognized Sinnett as a top AEC professional as part of its 40 Under 40 class of 2008.
