HOUSTON, TEXAS – This year Kirksey celebrated their 29th year of planting trees in honor of their clients. On January 9th, the firm gathered to plant 300 donated trees in partnership with the Memorial Park Conservancy at Memorial Park. In addition to hundreds of volunteers, Mayor Sylvester Turner, members of City Council, Houston Parks and Recreation, Uptown Houston TIRZ and Trees for Houston were in attendance. For Kirksey, this year marks more than 9,700 trees planted throughout the Houston area, proving that the firm’s commitment to sustainability and the local community is still strong.

Partnering with the Memorial Park Conservancy, Kirksey planted 300 trees kicking off the beginning of Memorial Park’s ecological and habitat restoration as defined in the 2015 Memorial Park Master Plan.

“Planting these trees will help restore Memorial Park to its full beauty once again,” said Janis Brackett, Community Team Leader at Kirksey. “We are glad to give back to our community in a direct and sustainable way. Even after nearly 30 years of planting trees, each year is very special and rewarding."
