As Houston-based structural engineering firm Cardno Haynes Whaley prepares to expand its geographic reach and broaden its structural services, the firm will look to Andrea Goodwin, CPSM to play a significant role in that effort. Goodwin joins the firm as Director of Marketing; she will oversee marketing and business development for the firm’s current offices in Houston, Austin and Reston, VA. She will also be responsible for the marketing role in the firm’s growth strategy into new geographic markets and with new project partners.

With more than 17 years of experience, Goodwin has a strong track record within the architecture and engineering industries. Most recently she served as Corporate Director at national geotechnical engineering firm Fugro Consultants. Prior to that, she served as an Account Manager at a marketing consulting firm serving the design and construction industries.

Goodwin has also been closely involved in the leadership of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Houston chapter, where she served as president, treasurer, secretary, and co-chair for the annual gala. She became a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) in 2003.

“The firm is at a pivotal point in our history, where we are planning significant growth nationally,” Larry Whaley, P.E., president of Cardno Haynes Whaley said. “Andrea’s expertise, industry knowledge and contacts position her to facilitate that growth.”

In Houston, Cardno Haynes Whaley has a reputation for civic and professional organizational involvement. Goodwin will maintain high-level involvement in her current role with SMPS as the co-chair of the 2015 Southern Regional Conference to be held in New Orleans, LA next January. She will also remain active with the American Institute for Architects and Associated General Contractors, among other organizations.
