Stantec’s Houston office continues its pattern of focusing on client service by transitioning employee into new client-centric role.

Laura Sachtleben, AIA, LEED AP, previously a project director in Stantec’s Houston office, has been named Houston area market leader. Sachtleben has more than 13 years of experience in education facility design and was named the 2014 Young Architect of the Year by the Houston AIA. In this new role, Sachtleben will expand her management of clients across the larger Houston region and help guide operations and talent acquisition throughout Texas.

A thought leader in the educational design field, Laura leads Stantec’s Research and Benchmarking program and has given seminars on innovative and sustainable design nationwide. Of recent note, Laura led the project teams for Texan Drive Stadium, a highly acclaimed athletic complex in New Caney ISD, and Robert R. Shaw Center for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), a districtwide collaborative space in Katy ISD. In 2015, the Shaw Center was named to the Caudill Class, which is the highest honor awarded by the Texas Association of School Administrators.

Tom Oehler, senior principal with Stantec said, “Laura has been instrumental in leading several high-profile projects within the Houston market. I’m excited that this new role allows Laura to deepen her focus on client management and further her role as an education design expert in Texas.”
