Perkins+Will's Houston Office Promotes Personnel

The Houston office of Perkins+Will, a leading global architecture and design firm, recently announced the expansion of its leadership with the promotion of Jason Chan to Associate Principal and Gerald van Benschop to Senior Associate.  Three additional Houston employees assumed advanced functional roles.

JASON CHAN, AIA, LEED AP BD+C – Associate Principal
With over 15 years of experience, Jason is a leader in the Science + Technology and Higher Education markets. His expertise in planning, design, and project management have led to the delivery of award-winning projects across the country, ranging in complexity from higher education teaching labs to engineering, biomedical, and transgenic facilities. Jason has been published in Healthcare Design, American Laboratory and Texas Architect magazines as well as by the National Institute of Building Sciences on topics related to laboratory design and high performance lab systems. He holds Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees from Washington State University, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.

GERALD VAN BENSCHOP – Senior Associate
Gerald has been working in IT for architecture firms since 2000, including eight years with Perkins+Will. As Director of the Global Technology Services Group, he is responsible for ensuring that everyone in the firm receives the best IT support in the industry.  Gerald holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.

HUNTER NEZAT, AIA, LEED AP – Project Architect
Hunter brings over seven years of experience on the coordination of architectural drawings to Perkins+Will, and has contributed to projects for notable clients such as the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the University of Houston.  He is a Registered Architect, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.  Hunter holds a Master of Architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

ANDREW BROWN, AIA, LEED AP BD+C – Architect III
Andrew has over five years of experience with Perkins+Will, supporting clients such as the Texas Children’s Hospital, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Department of Homeland Security.  In addition to his work in the Healthcare and Science + Technology markets, he continues to be an integral part of project teams by progressing client relationships and coordinating consultants. Andrew holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

JASON DREWS, AIA, LEED AP BD+C – Architect II
Jason has over three years of experience in architecture, including six months at Perkins+Will. He has contributed to the Texas practice primarily within the Corporate + Commercial + Civic marketplace, and his attention to detail makes him a valuable asset to the Perkins+Will team. Jason holds a Master of Architecture from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University.  He is a Registered Architect, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
