SWA Group Announces New Principal
SWA Group, one of the world’s leading landscape architecture, planning and urban design firms, announced today that James Vick [an AIA member] of Houston has been named a Principal of the firm.
Beginning in 2004, SWA’s work in the Middle East increased significantly and Vick assumed a major role in a number of landscape design and urban planning projects from SWA offices in Dubai. Now located in Houston, he continues to be active in the Middle East. Locally, Vick is involved in the Uptown Houston transformation near the Galleria, the Lake Houston Wilderness enhancements now in their second phase, the Airline Improvement District and a 19-square-mile Spring Branch Management Plan taking an unprecedented comprehensive, integrated approach to planning – one of the first in the Houston metro area.
Born and raised in the Middle East, Vick was educated in London and lived for a period of time in India. He is a registered landscape architect in Texas, and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
