Leading Houston architecture firm Studio RED announced today the promotion of Micah Simecek to Principal. Simecek has established himself as a leading architect in the Houston Architecture industry, completing over one million square feet of commercial and residential architecture projects over his ten year career, with a cumulative value of over $250 million. "I am pleased to have Micah become Principal at Studio RED," said Pete Ed Garrett, founding partner at Studio RED. "His project management skills and his architectural expertise are top quality; we are proud to recognize his professional accomplishment."

His Path To Success:

Simecek started his career while still a student at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where he received his BS in Architecture, MA and MBA. While working part-time during graduate school, Simecek gained valuable experience producing drawings and overseeing construction which he credits to leveraging him into a career with leadership responsibilities and opportunities to work on many types of projects.

After receiving his degrees and working part-time as an intern through school, Simecek and his wife, Meghan, returned to Houston in 2008 to build a family and a career. He completed his architectural registration exams within one year, achieving his license to practice Architecture in the State of Texas in 2009. In 2012, Simecek joined Studio RED Architects where a successful future was waiting.

Notable Work:

As Project Manager at Studio RED, Simecek's practical approach to challenges on medium and large-scale projects has yielded valuable solutions for institutional, corporate and higher education clients. Simecek's portfolio include such notable projects as Mims Baptist Church, the recent Boyert Shooting Center, and St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Other notable projects include the Saudi Arabia General Consulate of Houston and The MetroNational Tree House.

Outside of the Architecture World:

When not in the office working with clients and designing buildings, Simecek is at home in Pearland with his wife Meghan and their three-year-old daughter, Macie. The family are members of the United Methodist
Church where Simecek participates in the Chancel Choir, a hobby he sees as an effective outlet to a Studio RED Architects Announces Addition to Leadership 1 of 2 high-intensity career. Whenever possible, the Simeceks like to travel, enjoying the cultural and architectural richness of cities like Chicago and Seattle.

A Houston Leader:

While Simecek's design and management skills have undeniably set him apart in his field, it is his natural ability to lead, that recommends him for his role as Principal, since his new position requires him to go beyond
simply managing the work of others. As Principal, Simecek leads architectural design teams through intricate project phases, guides clients through complex decision making, and influences staff and the overall culture of the firm. It is a position Simecek has proven himself capable of, and one he takes on gladly. "Every member of the Studio RED team has been chosen for their individual talents and professional strengths," said Simecek. "To be trusted with a leadership role in a firm of this caliber is a great honor." A bright and successful future is seen ahead for Simecek, with several major projects already in progress.
