Registration will not be accepted after the deadline nor at the door.

After the competition on Saturday, stick around on Sunday for a walking tour led by renowned architectural historian Stephen Fox.

This tour will primarily focus on the Strand Mechanic Historic District.  The tour highlights architects and architectural accomplishments of the late 19th and early 20th century.  Additional discussion will address pioneering efforts to revitalize the district and the architectural firms engaged to direct and guide that revitalization with Galveston Historical Foundation.  Major landmarks, urban spaces, and interesting historical details will enlighten the tour.  Contemporary plans and investments underway today in the district will indicate current thought on how to utilize the historic architecture to build a stronger economic base and tourist destination.

Restrooms will be available at the beginning and end of the tour. Please be sure to bring plenty of water and an umbrella for shade. Metered and pay lots are available near the tour start point.
