Brought to you by the Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program

Join the AIA Houston Young Architect’s Forum for a presentation featuring Kiza Forgie, AIA and her 2016 Design Make Residency project. Kiza designed and fabricated an air quality sensor and visual display unit that can be easily produced and attached to existing street signage infrastructure. Kiza will be joined by Professor Dr. Dan Price & Steve Stelzer, AIA LEED AP to discuss air quality in our urban environments and how interventions like Kiza’s project can affect qualitative change in our perceptions and actions.

Members of YAF will also introduce the 2017 Design Make Residency call for submissions and answer questions about the program.

The AIA Houston Young Architect’s Forum Design‐Make Residency is an innovative program that bridges the gap between theoretical design and physical production. Throughout the program cycle, residents will develop their selected project and area of study, culminating in the production of object(s) to be displayed at Architecture Center Houston. The program provides support for up to 3 residents annually in the form of workshop space and access to tools (via TxRx Labs, https://txrxlabs.org/ ), and connection to other resources such as materials and mentors. All active members of AIA Houston at any stage in their career are eligible to apply.

This program is developed and managed by the Young Architects Forum of the Houston Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. 2016 is the inaugural year for the program.
